As an Australian rules footballer he played for Melbourne from 1981 to 1982, St Kilda in 1983, and Geelong from 1984 to 1986, scoring 308 career goals in 82 games. Jackson went on to star in commercials for Energizer and Nutri-Grain. He starred in the movies Bullet Down Under and Trojan Warrior and was a celebrity judge for the TV series Bogan Hunters in 2014.
